As you bounce up in the air for the hundredth time, you may be wondering how your trampoline works. There are two things that work together to make you bounce. The trampoline springs and mat combine to create the proper tension to enable you to bounce when you jump. However, exactly how high you bounce depends directly on exactly how strong the springs around your trampoline’s edges are.

All trampoline springs should pass the American Society for Testing and Material standards before they are used on a trampoline. These springs are made with a high quality piece of wire that has been made stronger through a process called galvanization. The galvanized wire is coiled and then is cut to the proper length to form springs.

With each bounce someone takes on the trampoline, stress is placed on the springs. This is why using the strongest wire available is a good idea. Even with high quality wire, the springs will weaken and stretch over time. You should take a look at your trampoline every month to be sure the springs look sturdy and are not rusty. To help keep the springs working well longer, cover the entire trampoline with a tarp when it is not in use and consider spraying the metal with WD40 or a similar anti-rust product. The reason keeping your trampoline springs in good working order is so important is that they could snap at a weakened or rusted point as someone is bouncing away on the trampoline.

While you may want to go right to your trampoline’s manufacturer when you replace springs, you can also go to an online store that sells replacement parts. Two well known spring brands are Ultra Bounce and DDI Sports.

Of course, when you buy your replacement springs, you want to be sure you get ones that actually fit your trampoline. To find out which size you should shop for, remove a spring from the trampoline and measure it from one hook to the other. You should take your measurement in inches, since that is how these replacement parts are sold. You may actually want to measure two or three springs in case one of them is really stretched out to be sure you have the right measurement.

Once you have your measurements, you can shop for replacement springs. There are many great replacements parts suppliers operating online and you can find more information on them by following the resources section at the end of this article.

Stop a divorce

If you’ve been thinking that trampolines are too expensive for your checkbook to handle, you may be surprised at how cheap some of the budget models actually are. Manufacturers realize that not everyone can afford a deluxe trampoline with all of the bells and whistles and many of them have developed a line of cheap trampolines. Some people are afraid to buy a cheap trampoline because they think of poor workmanship or unsafe products when they hear cheap. However, lower cost trampolines are actually referred to as budget trampolines by the manufacturers and are simply a bit more cost effective.

Of course, not every budget trampoline is made the same way. Models that are made by a reputable manufacturer, such as AirMaster or Jumpking, are going to be made following the same safety standards and using the same quality workmanship used on more expensive models. Unbranded trampolines may not be made with the same attention and care and could be badly made or even unsafe.

If you do not consider the manufacturer and quality of the product as you look for a cheap trampoline, you may find that your enjoyable new purchase is nothing but one big frustration. Having your cheap, shoddily constructed trampoline break while the kids are jumping on it for the first or second time means that you’ve spent twenty five to fifty dollars a bounce! Of course, a poorly built trampoline is not just an annoyance; it is a safety hazard. You won’t want to risk the health of your children with an unsafe model.

Luckily, there are quite a few trampoline manufacturers that care about quality and safety, even when they are making products for their budget lines. One clue that can help you decide if a company cares about its products is whether it stands behind them. If the budget trampoline you are looking at doesn’t offer a guarantee or a warranty, then the manufacturer may not believe in its own product to offer one.

As you begin your search for a quality budget trampoline, you may be wondering if you can even afford to buy it. However, a basic eight foot round trampoline for beginning bouncers can be as inexpensive as $160 from an online store. This usually even includes shipping. If this is still a bit higher than you can afford, check out eBay. There are quite a few trampolines on eBay and many of them start at around $40. While some of these are used models, there are new ones, as well. Factories that are cleaning out their warehouses or companies that are having to liquidate their stock often use eBay to sell trampolines at wholesale prices.

If you prefer not to use eBay for major purchases, there is another option that may make that budget trampoline more affordable for you. Ask the online store of your choice if there is a financing option for more expensive items. As you check around, you may discover that some stores even provide interest free financing on models that are already in stock. This is the best option, since paying finance charges makes that cheap trampoline cost much more in the long run.

Best of all, once you have your new budget trampoline, you may find you save even more money than you were expecting. You may just bounce your way into shape and right out of that expensive gym membership you weren’t using.

I want to lose a wee bit of weight and tone up a few wee “soft” areas – you know what i mean ladies! lol – i do have a mini trampoline in the house which i havent used for a couple of years. How effective would that be? How good is it for cardio, fat burning and toning?

Im a TOTAL non exerciser *blush* although i do walk the dog lol – so any help would be amazing!

Thanks everyone :)

this is how i exercise i do it for 20-30 mins a day, breaking it down into 2 or 3 units of 10 mins depending how busy i am. i also bought 2 hand weights from lidl which were only £3 they are 1kg in weight each and while im boucing i am lifting my arms with the weights and i have lost 32lbs in 6 months. i still have 28lbs to lose but it wouldnt have happened without my trampoline. so get it out while the soaps are on or get the music channel on and get a bouncing girlie !!

Yeast Infection Cures

I weigh about 145, I’m assuming it’s about 200 calories? I have one of thos Jumpking HUGE trampolines. Thanks

abouttt…125.

Cool, I have squirrels outside my house, which makes me wonder if anyone keeps squirrels as pets. Be good to the squirrels they are cute.

They are both around the same price. She has been asking for a trampoline for awhile. She asked for the electric scooter on her christmas list though.

Which do you think would be better?

You should definately buy the trampoline because your daughter will have a lot more fun jumping aroung and learning new tricks on her trampoline than she would just riding around the driveway in a scooter. Another thing to consider is not just how fun it is but does she already have a bike, if so the scooter might not be the best choice because she already has something mobile. Think about which one she talks about more to you, which one is safer, and which one your daughter would use more. The trampoline will also provide more exercise for her too. I hope this helps.

I’m looking for an 8ft trampoline with an enclosure preferably pink or girly.

Thanks in advance..
